Discover Landmark Homes' newest Display Home in Feilding's Haronga Block. This 210m² pavilion-style masterpiece blends traditional elegance with modern design. We spoke with Amy Coombes from Landmark Homes Manawatū and Wanganui to find out more about the design inspiration that make this home so special.
Located in Feilding’s highly sought-after Haronga Block subdivision, Landmark Homes newest Display Home combines traditional elegance with a modern edge. Showcasing Landmark Homes dedication to quality and thoughtful design, every detail has been carefully considered to enhance comfort and livability.
Based on Landmark Homes Ready to Build Adagio plan, this 210m² pavilion-style home features a series of smart design elements that elevate both its character and functionality, delivering that all-important ‘wow factor.’
“It's a great example of how Landmark Homes Ready to Build plans can be modified – both to suit the site and the homeowners’ wish list,” says Amy.
“The design includes some clever changes to the original plan, such as relocating the covered outdoor area to better suit the site,” says Amy. “We also restructured and repositioned the scullery to be more open and accessible, and added a built-in bar in the dining area and a handy study nook to create a more functional and spacious hallway.”
The exterior immediately catches the eye with its striking combination of white horizontal weatherboards and vertical oblique cladding in a soft, earthy green. This blend adds a warm, natural feel to the contemporary style.
The inviting entranceway is a focal point, leading visitors along an attractive Kwila boardwalk right to the front door. The contrast of the cladding frames this entryway beautifully, setting the stage for the sophisticated design that continues inside.
As soon as you step inside, the home welcomes you with a soothing colour palette of soft greens, greys, and neutrals that tie in harmoniously with the exterior.
“We wanted the interior to feel calm and cohesive, which is why we chose a palette that really flows from outside in,” says Amy.
The use of HardieGroove lining in a rich, moody green on multiple feature walls adds a touch of visual interest and brings a sense of cohesion throughout the space.
The layout is smartly divided into two wings: one for the living areas and the other for the private bedrooms. This setup includes three spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two living areas, along with a handy study nook and a separate media room. By keeping the bedrooms separate from the main living spaces, the home offers a quiet, peaceful retreat for relaxation, while still providing connected areas for everyday living and entertaining.
Kwila decking extends along the living wing of the house and leads to a covered area at the rear, making it an ideal spot for outdoor dining or entertaining. With direct access from both the living areas and the master suite, the indoor-outdoor flow is impressive.
“Whether hosting friends and family or enjoying a quiet moment, we made sure there's always a spot to enjoy the sunshine at any time of day,” says Amy.
The kitchen is truly a standout feature, designed with both style and socialising in mind.
“We designed the kitchen to make entertaining easy,” says Amy. “We wanted it to be a space where hosting guests feels effortless and enjoyable.”
It includes a practical open scullery with a handy servery window, making it easy to pass plates, drinks, and food directly to the outdoor entertaining area. The elegant stone benchtops and top-of-the-line Fisher & Paykel appliances mean that the kitchen is not only beautiful but highly functional.
The cabinetry combines warm wood tones with crisp white finishes, all accented by brushed brass hardware that add a touch of sophistication. The splashback, with its striking textured green tile, adds character and ties in beautifully with the home's overall colour palette.
Extending naturally from the kitchen is the dining area, where a built-in bar or display nook adds an extra layer of luxury and convenience – making this space ideal for everything from casual breakfasts to dinner parties with friends.
The main suite is a true sanctuary of comfort and luxury. Wide-opening glass sliders allow for easy access to the deck and flood the space with plenty of natural light. The luxurious ensuite is a highlight, featuring a fully tiled shower and premium gunmetal fixtures. The eye-catching green accents, carefully chosen to complement the overall colour scheme, adds a touch of luxe to the space. And with a roomy walk-in robe, there’s plenty of storage to keep everything tidy and uncluttered.
The separate media room is the perfect spot to unwind and relax. Positioned at the front of the house, it’s just right for movie nights or a quiet escape with a good book. Plus, with direct access to the deck, it’s easy to step outside and enjoy the fresh air. Whether winding down or hosting friends, this space offers the best of both worlds – comfort and connection.
Tucked neatly out of the main view, the bespoke study nook is a clever addition to the hallway. “It opens up the space, making the hallway feel wider and more inviting,” says Amy.
With hidden storage and a handy desk area, it’s ideal for working from home or staying on top of household tasks.
The home also features a spacious, carpeted double garage with a well-appointed laundry area that provides ample additional storage. The laundry is smartly designed with a practical layout and easy access to the outdoors.
Whether you’re a family seeking a spacious and well-designed home, or a couple looking for a private retreat with ample room for entertaining, this home offers the perfect blend of luxury and practicality.
