“We wanted to focus the design on easy family living,” Steven says of the stunning new Showhome, and the team definitely fulfilled the brief with this innovative contemporary build!

The Showhome consists of three spacious upper-level bedrooms with ample storage, two bathrooms and a study. The master bedroom is positioned to maximise the morning sun and offers picturesque views of Mount Tauhara on the beautiful Lake Taupō.

But the real focal point of the master bedroom is the luxurious, fully tiled ensuite, complete with a large, raised walk-in shower and stunning freestanding bath that begs for a relaxing soak at the end of a long day. Stylish hanging ball pendants and LED strip lighting around the tub and beneath the vanity complement and enhance the contemporary and calming mood.

Teenagers or guests who crave privacy are catered for with a downstairs bedroom and another luxurious bathroom complete with freestanding bath and separate shower. “You have living rooms downstairs which provide perfect indoor-outdoor flow onto the big spacious decks and covered patio area, allowing you to get out of the wind or sit in the sun, which is important with the changeable weather in Taupō,” Steven says. “The outdoor area captures all the morning sun, while the covered roof area gets plenty of sun in the afternoon.”

Both patios lead onto a large back lawn with plenty of space for a trampoline and the children to play, while the covered area boasts an exquisite locally made Flare outdoor fire which makes a remarkable centrepiece, and is a fantastic addition for cooking summer barbeques, relaxing with a drink or warming up on those crisp winter days.

The atmospheric design of this Showhome has been thoughtfully created with warmth in mind. “There are a lot of Showhomes that are all white at the moment,” Steven says, “but we wanted to do something different.”

The neutral and earthy tones of the interior complement the black tapware, cedar accents and black-painted alcoves and walls in the kitchen, lounge, and dining, create a cohesive feeling of homely ambience. Outside, the innovative LED strip lighting provides a sense of showstopping drama as it creates shadow lines against the white brick veneer of the double garage and lights up the rustic shale cedar cladding and ZinaCore ebony-coloured roof.

“Often, you have feature lighting in gardens, but I wanted to light up the length of the wall to show the interesting imperfections of the white block wall and how we’ve pulled blocks in and out.” Steven says of this avant-garde look, “We’ve never done this before, but it really highlights a key feature of the street appeal of the home.”
