RESTFUL AND LUXURIOUS

Modern Marvel

This fantastic Landmark Wakefield design home will inspire you to begin designing your own Landmark home!

With its unique cubic structure, opposing mix of horizontal and vertical lines, and abundance of natural materials, the Wakefield is a modernist’s dream.

But despite its contemporary appearances, this two-storey townhouse is very much a traditional family home at heart, with considered interior flow and spacious living quarters.

Developed with inner city sites in mind, the Wakefield Ready to Build plan has a compact footprint while maintaining the feel of a large floor plan. With the addition of two outdoor areas, the plan creates a private hideaway from the hustle and bustle.

The design is the result of a considered focus on ‘livability’, an all-important aspect when it comes to choosing a family home, says Landmark Homes franchisor Debbie Clarke.

“Livability suggests logical, well-organised interiors and the Wakefield showcases an intuitive flow. We wanted to create a contemporary style home that was very much attuned to modern life, while also being restful and luxurious.”

Guided by nature

The modern, north-facing family home is both warm and light, with stacker doors and windows that open up the heart of the interior out to the timber deck and patios.

The warm ambience is continued with a double-height white-washed batten feature wall in the entrance. This look is echoed on the balustrade and on the upstairs void that overlooks the entrance.

The kitchen area has an engineered stone benchtop and high-end appliances, while the scullery provides more workspace and storage. Windows placed directly over the sinks offer serene views out to the garden.

“The large kitchen, scullery, and dining/family area captures all-day sun and opens to a deck for easy enter¬taining,” Debbie remarks.

“Plus, a cavity slider can connect or shut off the lounge from this open space.”

Upstairs, there’s also a quiet mezzanine, a spot to sit and read or relax. The generous-sized master suite is an oasis of calm, with a soothing palette and layers of luxe, organic fabrics such as cotton and wool. Spacious in floor size, this is complemented by large windows, bringing in plenty of natural light and giving the room a relaxed feeling.

An adjacent walk-in wardrobe and luxury ensuite create a corner of privacy that feels removed from the other bedrooms and downstairs living areas.

Walk on the wild side

Natural materials have been incorporated throughout the design to bring the beauty of the outside world into the home, and with it comes a sense of refined luxury.

The cladding is a pleasing mix of pine weatherboards and cedar vertical shiplap cladding, while a timber path leads up to the large Aluminium Plasma front door and a tall window alongside reveals the double-height entry awaiting inside.

The attractive, off-white weatherboard and lightly stained vertical cedar shiplap cladding match the style of the house, with its shallow-angled roof in 5-rib Colorsteel.

Inside, it’s considered additions, such as the stone fire and hand-crafted stone basins in the master ensuite, that give a sense of being world’s away from the concrete jungle outside.

“The whole home design is both impacting and eye-catching, while the extensive use of natural elements and materials brings a softness to the overall aesthetic,” says Debbie.

“It’s a beautiful design that wouldn’t look out of place in the big city or a small town, and offers plenty of versatility when it comes to your lifestyle.”
