The popular region of Hawke’s Bay has recently welcomed a new landmark with the opening of the Landmark Homes franchise, which is in the experienced hands of co-owners Steven Painter, Gerry Schumacher, and Tony Lafferty.
Steven and Gerry also co-own Landmark’s Taupō franchise, while Tony Lafferty is stepping into co-ownership from his role as Landmark Homes Taupō’s Construction Manager.
The winning trio combine not only a wealth of experience within the building industry, but also a long track record of working together and delivering outstanding results. “Tony and I worked on the tools together going back about 15 years,” says Steven. “He’s gone from strength to strength in the industry, and last year was awarded Construction Manager of the Year, as well as the award for Project Management Excellence. But most importantly, he holds the values and philosophy of Landmark Homes in high regard, so he’s a fantastic asset as co-owner of the Hawke’s Bay franchise.”
Tony says it’s great to be part of a proven team who are equally dedicated to delivering outstanding results. “We have already built a couple of client homes in the region that have gone fantastically, and I look forward to developing our relationships with all the suppliers and clients who have already reached out to us in the Hawke’s Bay.”
Gerry says the Hawke’s Bay and Hastings region holds a lot of potential and is continuing to attract new builds both from locals and those moving in from other regions. “Landmark hasn’t had a presence in Hawke’s Bay for 10 years, so it’s great to be able to set up a base and a Showhome in the region and start building some lovely new landmarks,” he says. “Hawke’s Bay is a beautiful spot with so much to offer, stunning vistas, wineries, beaches, great shopping, lovely communities, and of course just a relaxed way of living.”
Unlike bigger cities that are experiencing a shortage of available land, Hawke’s Bay has plenty of room for growth with several large subdivisions under development. “We’ve got subdivisions opening up right across the region including Central Hawke’s Bay and Waipukurau,” says Steven.
Landmark Homes is renowned for creating exceptional, unique homes that also work within the budgets of the new home builders. “Our Taupo franchise has recently delivered on some incredible builds that are still within the affordable range,” says Steven. “And that comes down to knowing the restraints around materials and price increases at the moment and ensuring we’re designing homes that meet the client budget.”
The Hawke’s Bay team are currently in the process of designing a new Showhome which will be located on Oak Road in Napier. “The home is based on the Ruakaka Ready to Build plan which is an impressive modern home with a very strong street presence,” says Steven.
With the build of the Showhome, along with several builds already underway and more on the horizon, the Hawke’s Bay franchise has a busy year ahead. “We’ll also be looking to add a fantastic interior designer to our team who will complement what is already shaping up to be a dream team of build experts.”
