From the beginning, Paul wanted Landmark to design and build homes that were a cut above the “boxes” that other companies were building.

“Initially, some people would come to us with designs already created and looking for a price to build their home. We often found that the cost to build was much higher than the budget they had specified for their designer,” Paul says. 

“We discovered that while the architect or designer had drafted a wonderful home that fitted the client’s vision, there were no solid processes to ensure the home would suit the site and the client’s budget.”

Using innovative and cost-effective materials that meet the client’s brief and level of investment without compromising on quality, the company realised it had a wealth of knowledge that could be used to increase overall economic efficiency for its clients.

This led the Landmark team to create a comprehensive design brief that allowed them to gather all the information they needed to ensure their clients got the home they wanted while saving precious time and money.

“Landmark developed a design brief; part of that was an area calculation sheet that we used to go through the plan of the home room-by-room,” Paul says. “I recall several occasions where the client walked out and said, ‘Wow, that was great,’ because we asked questions about things that they hadn’t even considered.”

Over the years, this design brief process has been perfected, leading to the creation of our exceptional pre-costed house plans.
